Pacific Sail

I got this call from the Marimed Foundation some six days before my trip to Baja with dP. It was also just three days before the Tole Mour was to set sail from Hawaii to the Marshall Islands.

  • We’ve got a berth for you.
  • A long pause from me. And then I responded.
  • You mean in three days. Hawaii to the Marshalls?
  • Yes.
  • A thousand thoughts in the next nano-seconds.
  • YES, of course I’ll be there.
  • WHAT??!!
  • Impossible to re-organize and be there in 3 days.
  • No it’s not, you know you can make this happen.
  • You know you CAN’T NOT go.
  • dP, what about dP and Baja, and our plans?
  • He’s your best friend, he’ll be frustrated, upset, but he’ll be excited at such a great chance, he’s not going to want you to miss it.
  • Yeah, but we’ve not been on a road trip together since forever.
  • I’VE GOT A BERTH. TO SAIL ACROSS THE PACIFIC! TO SAIL! ACROSS THE PACIFIC!

I have always lived for adventure.
